This is the only commercial campground on the island.

There is no camping at Magnetic Island National Park. There is no actual caravan park. Magnetic Island Tourism cautions against bringing large, towed caravans to the island, due to the steep terrain and narrow, country-style roads.

If you arrive by ferry, you can get to the YHA by taking the bus going to Horseshoe Bay.  Buses meet all the ferries at the terminal.

BASE Backpackers

in Nelly Bay

Base Magnetic Island hostel is located on the beach, at the far end of Nelly Bay.

If you arrive by ferry, you can get to Base by taking the bus headed towards Picnic Bay. Buses meet the ferries at the terminal.
